The pelvic floor chair.
Thirty minutes, fully clothed, and roughly thirty thousand pelvic floor contractions you do not have to do yourself.
Thirty thousand pelvic floor contractions in half an hour.
The pelvic floor is a sling of muscle that supports the bladder and bowel. Like any muscle it weakens, and when it does the effects are quietly miserable: leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh or run, and a loss of confidence that most people never mention to anyone.
The chair uses HIFEM, high intensity focused electromagnetic technology. Rather than asking you to squeeze, it stimulates the motor neurons that control the pelvic floor directly, so the muscles contract on their own. A single thirty minute session triggers around 30,000 contractions. The manufacturer's comparison is more than ten thousand Kegel exercises, done properly, without you having to do any of them.
You sit fully clothed. There is no undressing, no gel, no anaesthetic and no recovery time. You can drive home and carry on with your day.
How a session works
- 1
We talk first. What you are noticing, how long it has been going on, and whether this is the right thing for you at all.
- 2
You sit on the chair, fully clothed, and we set the intensity together. It builds gradually. Most people describe it as an odd but not unpleasant tapping or tightening.
- 3
Thirty minutes. You can read, scroll your phone or talk.
- 4
You get up and go. No soreness, no downtime, nothing to manage afterwards.
Who it is for
The chair is intended for people whose pelvic floor muscles have weakened. That includes leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, lift or exercise, weakness after childbirth, and changes that come with age or after surgery.
It is for men as well as women. Pelvic floor weakness is far more common in men than most men realise, particularly after prostate surgery, and the chair works the same way regardless.
Asking about it
The chair is offered to clients after a first session at the clinic, so we have met properly and understand your situation before recommending anything. There is no online booking and no package to buy upfront.
If you are already a client, just mention it at your next appointment. If you are not, the first step is the same as it is for everything here: a conversation.
